TRANSCRIPT:
We’re incredibly proud of the courtyards and outdoor spaces that we have here at the facility. It allows residents even right when they wake up to walk out their door and enjoy fountains, a koi pond, landscaped gardens on their way to breakfast.
Breakfast typically starts around 8:00 AM, and then it kind of splinters off in two groups. One will go to the gym for morning exercise class, and the second group will either go outside to the craft room, or even here in the library for what’s called a daily devotional, where they’ll grab a Bible or read a scripture passage or an emotional passage, and just talk amongst friends. And that kind of jumps right into group games after that, whether it’s inside, outside of the clubhouse here, and then lunchtime.
Lunchtime is around 12:00, and is undoubtedly the most important meal for all these residents and something that they certainly look forward to. After lunchtime, there’s outings three or four times a week, where they take the bus out to the local villages squares, to go get ice cream, to go to a park and walk around.
And if you don’t do that, you can always stay here and do another group activity. The craft department does a good job. We just passed by some terracotta planters that were painted his cows, that’d be, you know, kind of for the summertime to show the world grazing here at the facility.
And then to finish off the night, dinners promptly served at 5:00 PM with an evening movie shown in the movie theater thereafter. But we’ve always encouraged residents to not let the night stop there. Right? So go outside of your room, sit and chat with friends, watch the sunset, and that naturally leads someone to bed.
