Family Connectedness – At A Banyan Residence, we believe transparency is key to making families feel comfortable their loved one is getting the care they deserve.

In an effort to be transparent, family members will be provided with credentials for online access to the senior care information such as progress notes, provider visits, vital signs, weights, enrichment activity participation, monthly dietary menus, monthly newsletter, monthly invoicing, etc. We call this platform our Resident Dashboard.

Enrichment Calendar
– Each month, our activity team designs an enrichment program that reaches and stimulates our whole community from sun up to sun down each day. We publish our monthly calendar to the Resident Dashboard for families to see exactly what is scheduled each day and at what time.
It even helps families choose when to time their visit so they can catch our live music!

Resident Photos – Right on your home screen, you will see a rotating reel of photos that our staff have taken of your loved one while living with us.

The photos they’re “tagged” in can range from being a part of a group during pet therapy, to a painting they created, to dancing to our live music. This will give you comfort seeing how active they are, even during times when family isn’t able to visit and see it for themselves.

Invoice History

We provide a record of all invoices right at your fingertips so you can track what has been paid historically with a detailed breakdown of expenses.

It allows you to download the invoices, as well, for you to keep a history of records if you’d like.

Resident Vitals

Our caregiving team makes sure to weigh each resident every month. While we monitor each meal to make sure all residents attend and eat their food, it’s important to maintain a healthy weight and avoid gaining or losing weight too quickly. For transparency, we publish the weight of each resident every month to the Resident Dashboard.

Grievances

While we’re very confident in our level of care and the attention each resident gets, we do make it easy for a family to file a formal grievance that gets the attention of our most senior management team. By creating a grievance, it prompts our team to collaborate on a plan of correction to improve the level of care we provide. This is then documented in a resident’s profile so we can be sure that it is corrected and never becomes an issue again.

assisted living communityProgress Notes – We make available the timeline of clinical information in its entirety to our families. Any time a doctor, nurse, home health group, or staff member has an appointment or observations for a resident, they are published in a note with the original documentation attached. Families are then notified of the new note via text or email with a link to our Resident Dashboard platform where they can see the notes in their original format as well as our own commentary.
It can range to a physician’s new diagnosis with new medication orders all the way to describing an interaction a staff member had that was interesting.

Department Request – While staff are doing housekeeping and maintenance daily around the community, we understand families have observations or special requests that we’d love to accommodate. Our Department Request feature allows a family to make any request, regardless of size or importance, and get that message directly to the right person responsible. It then allows us to document the request and create a plan of correction to ensure it’s done in a timely manner.

As a resident lives with us, their needs for assistance may change. Through a combination of receiving superb health care and attention as well as gradual aging decline, individual services can be added or removed based on their needs. As a tool to track these changes, we graphically represent how their level of services have changed over time and include a roster of what services the resident is currently being assisted with by my staff.

The dietary program here is truly exceptional and designed by only the most qualified licensed nutritionists. Our ingredients are delivered fresh and all of our meals are homemade. As a way to showcase the exquisite dining experience our residents receive, we publish the dietary menu for each week so you can see what they should expect to eat. It also helps families choose the timing of their visits!

Activity – Staying active and social is an important part of aging and a critical tool in our community to encourage. While we have dedicated staff to encourage participation in a range of activities, we understand it’s helpful for families to see exactly what their loved one has been up to. During each activity, our staff checks off anyone who participated and this information is fed directly into the Resident Dashboard. On any given day that you choose, you’ll be able to see how active your loved one was and what activities spark their interest lately.
Visitors – We love when our residents get visitors of all kinds. We do keep a list of approved visitors for each family and make sure only people on that list are able to visit with a resident. We keep a log of each visitor, such as a lifetime friend, a physical therapist, a doctor, you name it. All of this information is published to the Resident Dashboard so you can see exactly who has been on property and chatting with your loved one.
