The urban design of the community is to be mindful of resident desire for intimate residential settings. The community has four distinct neighborhoods that intersect with the club house. The walking distances are minimized being keenly aware of some resident’s limitations on ambulation.
Secured Perimeter – For the security of the residents, the entire exterior perimeter of the campus is secured with solid vinyl fencing, architectural aluminum and concrete and masonry column features. Any person entering and exiting the premises is required to enter at the receptionist or have a code.
Exterior Barbecue Island professionally designed for our popular family barbecues – We have a reputation of great family barbecues with exterior cooking appliances capable of feeding 100 plus people simultaneously. Families are invited to the barbecues free of charge to encourage frequent visits to the benefit of both the residents and their friends. All barbecue events include live local entertainment.

Koi Fish Pond and Viewing Bridge – Aqua-scape design with nature rock boulders, waterfall and water plants all designed as a Koi fish habitat wonderful nature for resident fish feeding and viewing;

Tiki Torches – One neighborhood is equipped with natural gas fueled tiki torches for evening viewing, offering an exotic touch;
Colored Landscape Lighting – With the latest Wi-fi controlled landscape lighting the campus has color changing landscape lights that can have custom setting for holiday themes;
Fire Pedestals – sitting areas featuring fire pedestals for cooler weather and doubles as coffee tables;
Exterior Walkways – extensive foot paths that residents can circulate while enjoying exercise. Design includes a combination of concrete and designer inter-locking pavers.
Safety & Comfort
Caregiver Call System – 24 hour supervision at the caregiver’s work station for any request from a resident, rather emergency or non-emergency.
Requests are fulfilled within minutes of a resident pulling the cord from their suite. Pull stations are installed in all resident rooms in multiple locations where a light tug of a cord draws an alarm in a work station that is monitored 24/7 to be able to respond to any request, whether it be an emergency or not. Within seconds, staff are notified through a radio network of the resident needing assistance, who can be helped immediately.
Security System – At A Banyan Residence, we’re committed to the safety and security of our residents. A comprehensive network of security cameras are installed with continuous coverage of the whole facility to ensure resident safety and accountability. Understanding that families like to check in on their loved ones, but may not always able to be on property, this secure network of cameras is available for remote login to all family members to view from their own homes.
Sound System – A sound system with both interior and exterior speakers is wired through all areas of the campus with music chosen based on mood, time of day, and the activities scheduled for the day. Whether it be island steel drums, holiday music, or hits from the greats like Sinatra and Elvis, there is something for everyone throughout the day.
Energy Management System – This technologically advanced feature ensures the optimal environmental comfort for residents. Resident Suites have individually controlled thermostatic central air conditioning with the latest in variable speed condensing units, each monitored and controlled by the On-Site Administrator.
Dining Rooms
Our two dining rooms are designed with a restaurant style configuration offering intimacy, as well as separating standard assisted living residents from memory care residents. The rooms have reaching, vaulted ceilings with chandeliers and panoramic bay windows overlooking the gardens and courtyards of the property. Art work, curtains, linens, and furniture are all carefully chosen to fit within the island theme that the property has.
Bistro
The bistro is equipped with sandwich ingredients coolers, tea, coffee makers and warmers, and more to allow for a casual dining experience whenever a resident wants it. Our bistro is decorated to remind guests of the feeling of an authentic, family-owned bistro including quartz counter tops and even outdoor seating for the occasional drink, sandwich, or dessert.
Kitchen
Our kitchen is designed and equipped to be competitive with even the highest caliber of professional kitchens, giving our team of trained chefs the best tools for creating a unique and memorable dining experience. The thoughtfulness that went into the design allows our team the ability to cook for large groups easily, while still committing to attention to detail and food quality.
Ice Cream Parlor
Our retro-designed ice cream parlor is a blast from the past for those craving a sweet treat. Our parlor is equipped with showcase coolers and a variety of flavors, syrups, cameral warmers, topping dispensers, soft serve ice cream, and seating for any resident and their guests.
Craft Room
With a very creative enrichment staff, our crafts and activities are wide-ranging and ever-changing to keep up with the interests of our residents.
Theater
Our professionally designed movie theater is built to give an authentic theater experience, decorated with artwork, photographs, and movie posters from the good ole days. With acoustic sound insulation, surround sound, star-lighting ceiling and oversized recliner chairs, your loved ones will love the experience of catching a wonderful flick on an enjoyable evening with friends.
Beauty Salon
Our beauty salon is a full-service professional-quality outfit that’d rival any boutique hair and nail salon. Sparing no expense, our salon is equipped with a hair washing sink, salon chairs, hair dryers, pedicure and manicure stations, and all the bells and whistles that you’d expect to see.
Library
Our ceiling-reaching library has an elegant design with a warm fireplace and a wide variety of books chosen specifically for our residents. Additionally, you’ll find computer stations, tables, chairs and lounge chairs, creating a relaxing and familiar environment.
Gym/Physical Therapy Center
Our gym was designed to encourage and provide equipment and facilities to our residents with even the most ambitious fitness goals. Completely equipped with Nu Step Recumbent Cross Trainer, SCI Fit Latitude Trainer, therapist table, wall mounted racks with bar bells, wall mounted racks with ankle weights, mirrors for posture, yoga chairs and mats, and more are all available for rehabilitation or physical wellness.
Multi-Sensory Room
The multi-sensory room was designed to provide stimulation for any resident that comes to our community, regardless of mental or physical abilities. For our Memory Care residents, we recognize that traditional activities may not appeal to all residents across the spectrum of cognitive impairment or decline. Research shows that activities that directly stimulate some of the fundamental core senses triggers mental and physical responses that otherwise may be more difficult to create. The responses from those without cognitive impairments show immense appreciation for these sensory triggers as well.
“The Band” – Using instruments, a flat screen TV to stream concerts and “how-to” videos, and instruments designed specifically for elderly allows residents to put on their own music concerts and learn to play an instrument. The action/reactionary nature of playing an instrument keeps an audience engaged and interested in continuing to learn.
“The Board” – A purpose-built board with a variety of texture swaths and gadgets allows residents to fidget at their will and to feel the differences at their fingertips. With a UV light shining to highlight to bright and neon colors, it’s bound to capture the attention of its audience.
“The Lights” – Thick bundles of fiber-optic light cables are draped and mounted around the entire room, letting residents feel and see the lights up close and personal. With mirrors mounted on the wall throughout, it magnifies the experience of the color-changing lights.
“The BroomX” – By partnering with a startup in Barcelona, we were able to be one of the first in the world to have access to brand new projection technology. With a 360 degree field of view, this projector is able to stream videos to all walls and vaulted ceiling to give the impression of being transported to a completely different world of a resident’s choosing. Whether it be sitting on a beach in Portugal, or a boat ride through the jungle in Costa Rica, swimming underwater with dolphins in the Caribbean, a rollercoaster like Six Flags, or a tour through a sci-fi fantasy land, there is something for everyone that will captivate anyone young or old for hours. With a massive library of content that’s being updated daily, there are endless possibilities for what to watch.
“The Lounge” – With a range of seating from heated massage leather recliners to brightly colored dementia rocking chairs, it allows residents a chance to kick back in comfort while they experience the stimulation and sensory experience.
